From tree trunk to wooden jar

We make the wooden jar in a special smart way! The technique is called “shrink technique” and is used when we attach the bottom to the jar.

First, we hollow out a tree trunk of any size with different tools. You’ll learn traditional woodworking methods and create a beautiful, functional wooden jar to take home.

The Process

Select a suitable piece of fresh wood
Hollow out the center using traditional tools
Create a groove for the bottom piece
Insert the bottom and let it dry to shrink-fit
